Thomann in germany has got their cheap t.bone range of microphones which now includes a ribbon mic. I have never tried any of the t.bone mics, but I am very tempted to try the RB500:

Has anybody got any experience of those mics? They have a condensor for £20 and some really nice looking stuff for a bit more (good for modding?):

i was once involved in a project where vocals (speech + singing) were recorded with a t.bone mic. don't remember which model, but i thought the results were "not so bad"...

i could use one for recording percussion sounds or similar...

I have some T.Bone mics... they sound better than any be***ger or any samson mic...
The only thing i know is that some of them were made from Felio, the same company that makes SE.Ele***nics...

Neeeeeeeeno

I dunno....

Looking at their complete lineup, it seems like they're doing some amazingly close clones of some very popular mics, at least visually (S*ure, BL*E, Sen*heiser, O*tava, M*L, A*dio T*chnica, SE, the German mics, etc). I really hope they're not a B-ringer copycat with even lower prices. Like Jaakko, I want to believe that a ribbon that cheap is a quality product, but after seeing their really bad B 58 knockoff I'm having my doubts.
damn, is there somewhere to get these in the US?
I am wondering if the N*ady RSM-2 is basically the same mic. Major online retailers are selling them already.
