This og C12A came in needing a new cable and PSU repairs.

Doing my usual checkover I wanted to see the shape of the capsule, and the leads coming down from the headbasket and sharpie'd lead positions indicated it may not be original.

Indeed it was not. I believe this is a bog standard RK12 in there, but wanted to be as sure as possible before giving a report to the client (who may be aware, but I like to be thorough)

What do we think? RK12?

Looks like it, the mount isn't original either
No, and it was hacked at for some reason. The install is sloppy so I'll fix that up.

Didn't look like Peluso/Tim/You/Advance Audio/Flea/Beesnez etc... only difference to the RK capsules is slot vs phillips but i'm guessing that's gonna vary by production run anyway. Thanks for weighing in Ari.

I have lost track of all the chinese K67/CK12 variants so I wouldn't know the manufacturer. Please make sure that the tube is not just working but actually sounds good.

Just doing the quick bench testing and it is quiet, not microphonic, and seems to sound quite fine. I've got a session this afternoon so I may bash it up in front of an acoustic guitar to double check. Thankfully those nuvistors are still cheap and plentiful.
