I know this usually isn't the type of thing discussed here, but I figured if anyone could help me out I would find them here. I've enjoyed reading about the projects you all are doing, and hope to try some out at a later date.

My crossfade on a mixer I have is shot and in my current financial state I cannot shell out the required funds for a replacement from the manufacturer. Can I use a different crossfader, or some kind of double pot design?
I guess in short what I'm asking is are all crossfaders essentially the same, and can I fix it for cheap?

No. No. Cheap faders in rapid DJ work wear out fast. Different companies have different ways to avoid this. Nobody has found a good cheap way.
