Hi,

I'm in a process of fixing a 160SL for a friend. One of two V8 VCA modules is fried...

Does anyone here happen to have 160SL schematics or power supply rail data? PSU need modifications in order to change V8's to newer 15V models.

Also, service manual would be interesting; I guess that calibration procedure is described there.

If you can help me, please send me personal message or email.

Thanks!

Mikko

dbx tech support was surprisingly helpful when I had to repair mine. Unfortunately I don't have a service manual but I have a working unit and a meter if that is of any help.

Here is the modification procedure for REV A... Look on the upper right side of the main PCB for the version.

Here is the location schematic you will need to find the resistors it talks about.

P.S. They are probalby all ready changed to the new values if it has the "auto-velocity" thingy/PCBs installed... but double check.

Brilliant! The calibration procedure would have been quite difficult to re-engineer...

Well, V8 is a pain in the butt to remove especially when tolerances on the PWB seem to be quite small. You need a heat gun really, not doable with soldering iron only.

Hi jwhmca would you have the rest of the full schematic available for the DBX 160S?
