3 tips for the prce of 1,

first, get yourself a small hi powered magnifying glass,

i bought this one for a buck at a surplus hardware store, used it to fix probably 10,000 circuit boards over the last 20 years, you can find those small hairline shorts in pc boards from bad processing,

second is the UTC transformer brackets so you can mount them in a 1U rack,

third is a patch cord that can be used to check guitar pickup resistance and inductance, inject a signal tone into a guitar amp, monitor output voltage from a parallel speaker jack, or hot wire a 53 Studabaker,  :D

Magnifiers.....ahhh, yes.  When I was a young boy, Mom told me "Brian, you'll go BLIND if you keep doing THAT...."

Well, now I wear progressive lens "bifocal" eyeglasses....but I never had to shave my palms <G!>.

For several decades, I've had a "Knock off" of a Luxo illuminated magnifier on my workbench.  Sometimes I take it with me and clamp in onto a temporary workbench.  The ones I've seen came from Office Depot, but many other sources sell them.

Several years ago, I found a smaller, more portable illuminated magnifier at Office Depot.

PS, did I say I really like my Panavise?  lol

everybody should have their own personal stripper,  :D

used to strip wires with diagonal cutters and needle nose, what a drag1

get a real wire stripper, great for teflon and real small wires,

use it about 10 times a day, even works on nose hairs, no, just kidding,

also, some desktop links can be handy,

transformer catalogs:

best tube data link is Franks:

db calculator with adjustable ohms level:

and maybe ohms law when you get lazy:

ok then...

I'd like my own personal stripper.  8)

My tip for the day is keep your parts and tools organized and always put away so you can find them. It sucks to know you have some obscure part and not be able to find them.
