3uf became .68uf (PIO) C3 is 22uf, grid resistor 2.7 I've been recording acoustic guitar using the 251 in this configuration with stunning results.

I used my Barbaric 251 (CT12, AMI 14/1) on acoustic guitar for the first time recently. Sounded good, but noisy as hell. Had to use a copious amount of noise-reduction to save my ass (really though, I had 2 other close mics and a pair of other mics further away). Guess I ought to try a different 6072 in it I suppose. Think I have another “good” one around besides another “bad” one and the one with a “bad” triode.

If you can't find a quiet GE6072 I would recommend the EH6072. The one in my FLEA is quiet and sounds as good as my 5 star GEs

IIRC and just fyi, there was an EH-6922 in my former Innertube MagMic. The tube was quiet and sounded good. I'm not sure it was the original tube that Stayne put in (probably not, based upon the wording of the sale when I bought it 2nd hand), but it worked well in that circuit. Just a little experience with another Electro-Harmonix tube type.

Hi! What do you mean 'for bike exhaust'? Like a high heat spray paint?

I often use Rust-Oleum high heat spray paint marketed for painting tools and backyard BBQ grills, wood-burning stoves, engines or other metal items. They make a similar product for automotive use.

Great stuff. It dries very quickly to a matte finish in about 15 minutes - even faster if I use a heat gun - and turns out well after baking in the oven as Mr. @garp suggests. I use it on practically anything which calls for a flat black matte surface - wooden risers/shelves for my operating desk, small home-brewed speaker cabinets, metal project boxes, and lots more where I want a flat black matte surface something like a coarse power-coat finish. As always, your mileage may vary. James

I didn’t catch the oven part but it looks fantastic with just two light coats! (The lighting makes the body look whiter than it actually is)

That would explain why I didn't hear a significant improvement when swapping out the EH in my micparts V251 with a tested 5*GE.

Alright. Just picked-up a couple… Now someone needs to do the same with the 5751! I’ve had a couple of new ones from Sovtek for so many years, but still have never tried them in anything; as I still have a couple great GE 5-Star ones.
