Hi to all ,
a friend ask me info about a fader automation called "Evamix"
because part of a Soundcraft TS24 console that it would like to buy ,

checked a bit online but no success about ,

any info about is welcome
thanks in advance about.
cheers

During a recent sort of exhibition fair of analog audio
(Hi-Fi , semi pro and pro devices , vintage radio and tv transmission methods included )
had the opportunity to attend some conversation
between technicians, passionate (no longer young) and curious fascinated by analog technologies,

in one of the conversations they also talked about old consoles of the 70s and 80s,
and their development over the years ,
the most mentioned, of course were the Neve ,SSL , MCI ,API ,Amek , the Focusrite Forte ,
but also Soundcraft , Midas , DDA , Allen & Heath , Trident, and some other ,
were an interesting part of the conversation ,
and obviously also their automations, being a relevant part of the consoles ,
among which also the Evamix ,

and how much I remember from the conversation
is that it was manufactured by an italian company called Audiomatica
based somewhere around Firenze city ,
the automation consisted of dedicated control software
with fader level , ch mute , write-read mode and other controls
(load , save , copy-paste , and the usual others too )
that ran on PC 386-486 , with Windows OS of that time ( maybe 3,0 ? ) ,
controlling the dedicated hardware (someone if I remember well said by customized Midi)
consisting of an ISA format card inside the PC
connected to a 2 unit rack Mainframe box -> connected by flat cables to each ch VCA cards
placed on the console fader plates
if I remember correctly VCA cards based on DBX ic ,
( most likely a successor to the famous vintage one present on the MCI consoles automation )

the automation was mainly installed on Soundcraft TS24 , TS12 , 3200
and other Soundcraft consoles models too ,
someone in the conversation said they had seen it also on DDA , and Amek consoles ,

another info as well is that the automation could be easily bypassed .

hope this help.
