Its OK 3nity, no problem and actually thanks for the compliment. I'm not one for hype so I'll let others do that after they hear and/or build a 1084.

Its sounding smooth as butter, very musical!

Its been a busy few months here and finally got time now to finish and fire it up (actually haven't been on the internet that much either). I was going to wait a few more days to announce it as I still want to do some changes.

I'll be adding a relay circuit for the normal bypass as well. Also the gainswitch should attenuate more than it currently does so I'd like to make it operate over a greater range.

By the way I got Dan's case and the front panel fits perfect. Not sure what the final colour should be? Any ideas? Right now its burgundy but that becomes very dark in normal light and ends up looking like brown. So maybe red?

I'll post some pictures soon. Hope you all like it.

Just to add another project here for those that are interested in 1073 project, take look at Neriks one. It is a fully feature 1073 WITH 1290, at last check he was doing a partial kit that included the customs inductors, ELMA switch, PCB and a few other bits at around $500 per channel.... a lot of off board wiring, but no more than the 1081 project in the past and 'vintage' units.

Where is this project located? So this is a full on 1073 DIY? Id like to see build pics if there are any. Thanks.

If you just look harder or at least search you'll find anything you need...
This is the 1084 Thread nothing else.

canidoit - No this is a 1084 (a few more options and frequencies than a 1073). Its also line level only although an adapter board will be provided to make it into a full 1084 (Mic and Line in). I'll be providing the PCB, BOM and set of build instructions. Custom front panel and case will also be available from Dan.

hi
I was just beginning to work to insert the EQ section into the EZ 1290 .
,a lot of job ,and i was very affected by the absence of the 2 active sections .
Talking about it with martin ,he put on me to you .
So i will stop my research immediately ,it will save my couple .
and i will order some pcb as soon as you finish this project .
Congratulations ;i'm sure you will have a lot of interested people .

The layout is designed for Grayhill. If you want you can use Lorlins for all but the LP filter. Not as pretty as Grayhills.
...

There is also a drilled and silkscreened 1RU case in the works for this project.

jim

Did you keep the Grayhill footprints in the PCB?  I hope?

We'll see a pic of the case, maybe?

I'm ready.  Lay it on us.  ;D

Here is a photo I just took of the prototype. The case is Dan's. There are no legends yet on the front panel. Dan will be selling full cases with finished custom front panel (silkscreened front and back) for this 1084EQ.

Introductory price of $87.00 U.S. for the first 30 orders.

Holy @#$%! Nice!

Will there be a FPE file for those who wish to build their own custom case faceplates?

Is there a BOM available?

I'd be in for two PCBs!

Just wondering will we be able to fit ez1290 into these cases to go along with the eq? i'm in whatever the configuration for a pair of these boards.Good work man, I knew Montreal would deliver ;D
