Can't wait.  I also just started with pouring my own knobs for the old ones from the 50's are not easy to find. So if I can help with that for these sure we can work something out . I will post pix if asked ( the knobs ) D

As far as I understand it, this board does not provide a mic pre like the EZ1290 does. The idea is that sometime in the future, the author of EZ1290 will make an add-on board to this 1084EQ board that will add a micpre to it. This combination would allow for line level input and mic level input, both with neve eq.

That said, i've summed the cost of transformers and inductors from AML and 8 channels of this plus micpre would cost 1,500  wow, what a project.

This looks amazing, I really like they layout and Im really glad you went for greyhills. Optional LPF is also a gret touch.

Cant wait to hear how you progress and hopefully build a couple myself soon!

without the ez 1290, is it a full 1084 for line level? Or will we need the line level 1290 section as well (which I actually already have)?

As far as I know EZ1290 does not provide a line level input, only the mic level one. Also, it is my understanding is that this project is a "full" 1084 without a mic preamp. But that's more for Jim to answer.

I know Jim will have the best words to tell it...but this is the EQ Section of the 1084.
This is not the full 1084 however i know it can become a full 1084 with a mod.
