Hey everyone,
I'm quite the novice when it comes to electronics, but really want to get into building my own gear. Anyways, I'm trying to work my way up to build the coveted Green Pre's, and I figure building a di reamp box combo would be a good place to start. I have the schematics from Jensen's site for the DI box, and NY Dave's reamp box, my plan is to put these both into one box. Shouldn't be too much of a task, but i also want to incorporate a splitter of sorts to the DI box so the signal can go to the pre and the amp. So my questions are
1. How should I go about splitting the signal? Should i get another transformer or something so there's no gain loss?
and
2. What are some of your favorite transformers to use instead of the Jensen, they're kinda pricy for me right now.
In other words, what are quality alternatives, and does it really make that much of a difference in sound?
Thanks.
