Hi,
I built one G1176 without any problems. I'm finishing the second one and just waiting on the VU meter to arrive. I thought I'd try it without the meter and when I powered it up, R89, the 220R resistor 'fried'. I was wondering if this is due to the lack of meter or if it's something else? If it should work without the meter, I'll continue trouble shooting it, if not I'll wait. Anyone know the answer?
Thanks
Greg

Congratulations on your first one.

The meter either sits across the output transformer output or at the output of the meter driver amp. But either way, the lack of it shouldn't increase the amount of current the circuit draws. So my guess is that you have a problem elsewhere. Check for shorts.

Thanks Mako. That's what I wanted to know.

So, am I likely to have damaged something else or have a faulty component. I'm 99% sure there are no shorts?

By the way, great boards. The first one worked first time. I'll be looking for some more soon.
