Component D2 on the G9 is listed as IN4001 on the parts list, IN4004 on the schematic, and IN4007 on the placement guide. what are the differences and which should it be? thanks.

1N400X. Check the datasheet. The most important difference is the maximum voltages the diodes can withstand. The larger the last number in the designation, the more voltage the diode can withstand.

I would use the 1N4004 (or bigger) as drawn in the schematic.

It benefits everyone if we keep related questions and answers in one thread..

That said, just use 1N4007 everywhere, always. No longer any need to cut cost by using inferior-rated types.

G9 power supply or parts of it is often used in projects where tube heaters need more current, marking 1N5401 on big schematic (when you zoom in smaller) would be helpful. I'm very grateful for having G9 project with support when starting out, thanks!
