Since we have an interesting discussion on facebook right now:
what features would you like?

So far we have volume control only ...

Would it be Mono (single slot?), Stereo and/or linkable?

How about a little talkback option?  When I'm setting preamp levels the talkback button is *all the way over there*  ;)

This would be a cool addition, good work!

I/O jacks - nicely done makes sense.

How about an aux input on the front?  Could be used for additional signal injection and/or talkback - maybe switch-able?  ;)

Ok, decided to do the inputs and main amplifier on one PCB, headphone jacks controls on another.
(just to have them all centered at the front panel etc).

one more advantage: we can do different sub PCBs, for future features like mono or crossfeed etc.
I took care to distribute all 16V and 24V voltages to the sub-PCB.

the first one just has volume control and clip LED, and two headphone outputs.
I don't need more at the moment.

I could do with this.  Please count me in.

What's the Facebook page where this discussion is happening?  Or is it a secret?!

Ok, PCBs should arrive soon, and I already have two trusted Beta-Testers.

Now for the "Artist-Edition":

how would you do the Mono-Switch?
Pros and Contras for MONO1 vs MONO2?

Hi Rob,

the PCBs are here, and today I'm awaiting the parts I ordered from the online Reichelt BOM Udo was kind enough to do.
don't know if I find time soldering today, but will have time over the weekend.

Volker,

if you need any prototype builder or tester, I would be happy to help!
Right now I have plenty of time as there are Semesterferien  8)

Best,

I just checked Udo's Reichelt Cart. Seems like it's missing some sort of headers/Sockelleisten to interconnect both PCBs.

Or what was the plan how to connect the boards?

Hi Carsten,

it's "Stiftleisten"in the bom.

Best,

Udo.

I want to have the potentiometer and headphone sockets in the middle of the faceplate.
not doable with sockets like the PCB is (too narrow together).
not doable with a mirrored daughter PCB (too wide for standard headers / sockets).
so we just use the header pins and solder the PCBs together.
