Yep[silent:arts] said:Everybody will have some 1N400X at home ...
No,excellent and easy to do pcbs as always, doing my second dual psu meanwhile,hahaha.....[silent:arts] said:Udo, always fast like hell 8)
input is not critical. output stage is for mid to high impedance headphones.kante1603 said:Some things to mention:To my taste the input is too sensitive,it starts distorting too early,or this amp doesn´t like low-impedance phones (had 75 Ohms types connected, didn´t have higher ones around).
yes. we will measure and adjust. might go the middle way with 200R. this is only one resistor, and it is on the daughter board.kante1603 said:The clip led only lits up far beyond clipping starts,Volker told me already that a resistor might have to be changed.
don't think the circuit or PCB design is the cause, but will have an eye on it.kante1603 said:Besides of that I picked up rf but that is definetely coming from my my unshielded extender cable,so no biggie here.
well. it is a cheap one. however, it is the only dual 50k log pot you can get from any stock ...kante1603 said:The Alps pot I built in seems to be a bit scratchy.
Can't tell by now,but seems so.Sadly it distorts too early on lowish phones.[silent:arts] said:Mine are 250R.
Fine. However, is it loud enough?
The original is for +/-35V, we only have +/-24V.
4 resistors (each channel) are not adjusted yet.

Hi Volker,[silent:arts] said:Cool Udo.
I guess we will start with the original values converted to 24V.
We need and should find a compromise between 50Ω and 250Ω.
Is the ALPS potentiometer scratchy on both sides?
Seems to be more on the right side, but definetely is present on the left too.[silent:arts] said:No I don't think - if it would be only on the right side I would.
(and for sure I will look for it)
You mustn´t,one could buy some more of them-or chop the small pcb to give room for an ALPS Blue (RK27....).I know them as excellent pots, they exceed their specs by far and Left-Right matching is damn good.I know, they´re much more expensive, but the total cost of this build is so low that one might think about it....and they´re available! It was 50k,stereo,log.,right?[silent:arts] said:OK, like in your experience bad quality.
Sad. Don't want to order custom potentiometers.
