Hi I've owned a pre built Gyraf SSL for about 4 years now and just today I had an issue with the gain reduction becoming erratic.

It happens about 30 second intervals and lasts for about 10 seconds.

I'll run audio through it, even looping one 4 bar part for instance, and it will go from the desired 1db of gain reduction to all of a sudden spiking to around 10db average reduction before finally settling back to the correct amount.

Any ideas what I can look for inside to replace?

Cheers

Does it drop at the *same* point of the loop every time?

Hi no it's nothing to do with the material, first thing I thought of.

Even a straight sine tone has this problem. It's sometimes very erratic too, almost like someone moving the threshold up and down quickly.

Thought maybe it could be a bad pot on the threshold but right now it's pegged with extra compression and even wiggling the threshold doesn't reset it back to what it should be.

Tried with the sidechain as well and same thing.
