Just bumped into this at mouser: http://www.mouser.com/new/Hammond-Manufacturing/hammond-140ex/

Seems to be a new thing, or maybe just news to me. Specs are stellar, somewhat comparable to the usual suspects at Lundahl and Cinemag et al.

But also comparable pricing. :(

Anyway, always good to have options and this is especially good to have at mouser since sourcing transformers has always been pain.

[edit]

seems these were released 09.10.2012, so "quite new" in the timeline of modern and available audio transformers.

Ok wtf there's far more.

I'm impressed. Strangely I've not ever bumped into these before. And never heard or seen anyone mention them.

Oh and here's the link from the original post as presented by Hammond themselves.

The second group have been around forever, and are rarely talked about, though they have been discussed here before.  The 800 series are as expensive as you would expect for old school hermetically sealed and potted transformers.  They spec better than advertised in my tests.
