don't forget OPR. his dedication to constant improvement is amazing. every single experience my clients have had with him and story i've seen about him has been immensely respectful, open to suggestion and collaborative. he is the person i always regret taking business from the most, by far. mark is the chillest dude around. there's no better place to go if your interest is in actually supporting the art. i heard his k47 for the first time a few years ago and wasn't a fan, but then i heard one a few months ago and it was great. he's been refining with help from friends in the industry this whole time. his current production k47 is actually slightly better than my last batch (and even that's when my plates are on target, which was an issue before we went in-house on those), and i'm sure his m7 is great

Agreed OPR is great I bought a 87 U-Mod from Him (I don't believe he does this model anymore) it was his mid range model at the time and even though sent from Australia to the uk for what it cost me it is an amazing mic for the price. It beat out a lot of other mic's between the £500 to £1000 mark and believe it cost me around £500. this was the mic that taught me to go further modding and buying better quality than your standard mic's on the market.I did not know he done a K47 until the last few days .... my brother has his C12 ready for a build. I will also say that when I contacted him he was really helpful with an issue I had with the mic which is sometimes really rare these days and talked me through fixing after I messed up... This U-mod has had a couple of capsules in since the original one of which made it very slightly better with the first one (A Maiku, it was close but left that one in for a while. Then I upgraded to the Arienne Audio K87 Which was again an improvement.

Completed some testing with My Blackspade Um17 and the Stam Mk1 47..... not finished.
Thiersch Blue line now to my ears seems to have a frequency Dip and choke when pushed (still sounds good).
Danny D7 is smoother through the whole frequency range and I like this capsule better on my voice in both the Blackspade and the Stam.
Tried Arienne Audio Flat 47 and K47 both I like more than the blue line Very good capsules..... Tried these in the Blackspade but not the Stam yet, I am edging towards a M7 Style Capsule I think on my voice (others will be different). All of these capsules are high quality and who knows what combo would fit for different peoples voices.
Thiersch Red line on order and Waiting to try in the Stam first before I try the 47's in there. More testing and maybe even more Capsules to order. We will see....

I have a Thiersch blue line, a red line (technically, a PET-reskinned Geffell M7), and an AA Flat K47 (as well as a few other cheap K47s), and I find the reskinned Geffell to be the most boomy, but nice sounding. The blue line has the sweetest top end, but sounds a bit scooped in the midrange, and the Flat K47 sounds very unobtrusive. Personally, I prefer the Flat K47 with a transparent circuit. Right now I have it in a “lollipop” head made by AEG on a KM84-style circuit and it sounds great. I have the blue line in my M49, and it sounds pretty good in there. My red line went into a Geffell UM70S (which is where it came from before it was skinned).

I’d love to try a different K47 (either the OPR or the AA K47V) in my M49 to see how it compares to the blue line.

I always think that the sound can be closer only when the capsule is consistent in microstructure. It is possible that no one has dissected and analyzed the back plate structure of Neumann. This is a horizontal dissection of a K47. You can compare it with who has a K47 drilled like this? In fact, there are more details.
