I'm a mechanical design engineer, and work for a well known 'blue chip' engineering company. In my pursuit for information to repair the power supply of an ADAT microphone preamp. landed at this forum.
I would describe myself as tinkerer/maker into audio, both vintage analogue and more modern digital equipment. I have recently become interested in building DIY analogue modular synthesisers, and music production.
My current HiFi is a hybrid of new and old.
My current power amps, quad 306s, were repaired and upgraded by myself and drive a pair of B&W P4 loudspeakers, were literally a barn find, that I restored myself.
The power amps are in a Bi-amp, Bi-wired configuration, sound warm, and have excellent imagery and separation.
As I have a young family, I will probably be doing more reading than posting! Hopefully this will change as my kids become more independent.
I look forward to finding out more........
