Anyone have schematics for the MCI JH 416 vu/peak meter driver board(s).
I have an emtpy frame, and I'd like to try and use the meterbridge, but I'm not sure if it already has a buffered input. Basically I'd like to make 6 patchable at the patchbay, and the rest right before my daw inputs. so I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to make 20-something buffered inputs to split them all.
Anyone done this? Converted a meterbridge for use with other line level sources? Does it take a transformer for each channel to buffer the input, or could it be done with less expense? And is the quality of the transformer paramount? and if so, is it important because it affects the quality of the signal that is passed and sent on to a new destination, or because it affects the quality of the signal seen by the meter.....
This may sound like a silly project, maybe not, but I'd really like to turn this frame and patchbay into a frankenstein of rackmount analog front end gear with a daw control surface in the middle. Using the meterbridge would make it all pretty damn sweet.
