Hi All:
Just had the power supply go down on our 636. This happens from time to time. Normally I replace the 2n3055H's
that were shorted and it's done. But today I had to use the MJ15015 because the 2n3055H's are not available.
The MJ15015's are a high power 2n3055 and should work. It doesn't blow them up are anything. They just don't regulate.
Anybody had this problem?
Any advice appreciated.

There's just no reason why it shouldn't work. It's something else. Check your connections; it's so easy to have a solder ball touching the heatsink... Good luck!

I can't make them work. 203055H will arrive tomorrow and I'll find out why. Maybe too much current gain. The MJ15015 is 180W device.
