Just to know, does all enclosure parts must be connected ?

Hi all,
I just would like to know if all parts of an enclosure have to be connected together ? I too the habit to remove a litte bit paint everytime, but is it allowed to just connect the rear panel to the star ground ?

I too find scraping the paint annoying, better to buy chassis that are made correctly in the first place.

But when working with what you have don't neglect this step. It is important to have the entire chassis connected both for safety and for shielding.
