What a great help, those lovely members.

I feal more comfortable on keeping my 224, esp. now I have the schematics!!  ;)

Here is a tip: replace the tantaliums at least on the power pcb, and clean the pcb edge connectors.
That's what was faulty with mine.

What are you cleaning your cards with?

I'm only cleaning the edge connector. First try to take it out and back in 5 times. If this doesn't help you can clean the edge connector with alcohol or a dry cloth or you can use some contact cleaner on the connector. Don't "spray" on the pcb

Hey guys!

I have an issue with a 224XL. It powers up and runs fine for about 30 minutes, then gets stuck on the concert hall bank and flags a H10 & H12 error. These errors refer to NVS rom 10 and NVS rom 12.

Does anyone have any suggestions where to begin? I take it these ROM chips actually contain programs which drive the reverb, so throwing them out and simply installing a new set won't work. Should I just begin with the usual procedure? Recap & clean, recalibration the PSU... and go from there?

Does anyone still sell programmed eproms for the 224XL?

We need  224 NVS ROMs too.  We have unit with only one NVS ROM installed.. BTW if you can send firmware I will send you some money :)

ASSuming the roms are plugged into sockets, reseat the ICs into the sockets. Sometimes they get loose or dirty.

Unfortunately Lexicon used cheap sockets on the 224, and they are showing their age. As a start you could replace the rom sockets.
You will find that if you lever chips up and push them back in they will make better contact. Do it in small batches, and preferably replace sockets where moving the chip makes a difference. Having learnt their lesson Lexicon did not socket chips on the 480, which is a pain in the a... when you are servicing them. If you use good quality turned pin sockets, its not a problem.
If you need Lexicon eproms then PM me.

Hey guys,

The issue was tracked down to a busted IC on the NVS card. I do have the ROM images for 8.2  on file. It will only work with a 224XL though.  Feel free drop me a pm.
