Mic-spotting in YT video...

Spotted this mic in a Wes Montgomery video. Posting it here to get a definitive ID. I haven't seen one like this before.


This must be from a European TV production.

Was that grille stock?

Looks like a NRU (Dutch Radio and Television) microphone.
The picture below shows a side addressed NRU microphone capsule with in this case a mesh headbasket.
(Type MO432) These microphones used the RF principle, like the later Sennheiser MKH series.

Weird to think they would remove the mesh grille for an overhead mic.

They used a different form of protection of the capsule.

In the attachment a picture (bad quality!) of a similar looking NRU microphone.
