A fellow GDIY member and I have developed a replacement PCB for the Midas XL200 I/O board. The original part was an option to balance inserts and direct outs and has not been installed in all XL200 desks. They are unobtainium these days. The original boards (IIRC Midas XL2013-1 part number) are nearly impossible to recap and are sonically subpar, unfortunately. Our replacement boards use different circuits based on That line drivers and recievers, hence DC-coupled with no electrolytics in the signal path. They measure and sound better than the original boards. On top of that both versions will draw less current than the original part, which means less stress for the PSU.
There will be two versions of the PCB available, one being fully populated to be used with the inserts and the second version with only the output being populated to be used with the direct outs. Everything SMD will be soldered, everything THT has to be DIYed. Prices are 16,80€ excl. Tax for I/O boards, 9€ excl. Tax for Output boards + shipping. There´s no profit for us involved. We´re simply trying to raise the numbers to be ordered to get better prices from the PCB fab. The boards will be made and stuffed in Germany.
