Hi I am doing the mxl 603 mod and I wanted to know how much the voltage will effect the parts I decide on. As in will the voltage I choose for the capacitor have a massive effect on the circuit i.e: blow it up?

I am looking at these 1000pf capacitors on ebay not sure if they would be right?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-NOS-SUFLEX-1000pf-POLYSTYRENE-CAPACITORS-1n0-0-001uF-/150563094904?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item230e428178#ht_1529wt_1139

They seem to say 160vdc in the picture, so they should be fine... the capacitor needs to have a max voltage greater than 48vdc as it may see the phantom power (although if I recall correctly these don't see the full 48v)

Thank you for the replies.
I bought a selection of capacitors and also a 607 piece kit including a small breadboard for further mods.

So as long as its over the minimum of 48v it should work?

Will keep people posted :)

HAHAH I think these capacitors a slightly too big!!!!  :p
