I'm documenting all the phases of construction...when I get it going I'll make a thread about it. I'll show how with a reasonable amount of skill and determination this 670 type thing ain't hard to do as long you're not trying to make a carbon copy...(where the problem is mainly sourcing the parts and paying stupid money for it)... put a little of you into it is what I say, costs far less too.

Look, do we HAVE to put up with this nonsense?

The man is plainly out of his mind, and needs to be banned from the fora, because...

...well, I mean... -it's obvous that he...

well, I... er...

He's a...

I...

um...

He's some sort of god.

He's my new hero.

I want to visit him.

I want to buy him a beer.

I want the city to put some sort of plaque on his home saying "Rowan, Lord of all which is true DIY, lives here"

 :green:  :green:  :green:

Holey [sic] cow! That poor step bit! I'm doing a rough filament current estimate--pushing 10A, are we not? Geez...

A P

p.s. Is that an ADK mic case I see in the background?

I admire the fact that you've ventured beyond the 8RU mark; very few things do this. Now it's starting to remind me of either a WE 110A, WE 1126, Langevin ProGar, or an RCA 96-A in scale. I approve of the tall and slim old-style approach, which hugs the rack rails more closely. And it should really hurt you badly if it falls on you; always a plus. Very very hard to steal. I've got a stereo job planned for a recycled 8RU RCA modulation monitor case, but I may have to up the ante now.

Analag, Lord of the DIY Tube Warriors, we pay tribute to thee.

Seriously, dude, that's amazing! :thumb:

It's cool to see you're using JJ Tubes. They've pleased in every piece of gear I've tried them in.

Bigfoot!

I too, have been building up a lifesize 670 chassis. I want the fold-down cover panel and fixed control panel, like the orig. I'm learning welding! lol

Man that is really a huge ******* limiter. I bet it will sound fantastic too!
The row of 6BA6's across the top was good planning, winter or summer.

Are you getting 80-90 v out of the sidechain yet?

Now THAT is a goddamned limiter!!! ****!!!

****!!!!!!!!!!!

A 30-glass limiter? A 10U case? 16-layer home-wound trannies? I mean... SHIIIIITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the hottest thing I've ever seen, Ro. Can't wait to see it finished! :thumb: :sam:

Peace,
Al.

Keef - done my ' training' with Howard Marks, It'll take a 'fair' bit to knock me over :green: , but that avatar, is a bit 'new age' an all that

Anyway, Analag, Looks just as wicked this morning , bro
