I'm gonna turn it around and show a pic of the wiring soon.
A question was asked about the heater setup....the power tran has (7) secondaries (4) of which are heater windings (2) @ 5A and (2) @ 2A. So each section has it's own supply, center grounded. Keeping it all AC. The regulator has it's own transformer.

Thanks to the original schemo, I ended up building my first regulator with tubes in it. After looking at a few designs including some Tektronix stuff I soon realized these guys were starving the error amp just so they could use an high value plate resistor, so active loaded I went (conducting like low resistance while performing like very high resistance). The result....0.1mV ripple with only 2.2uF polyprop filtering the output. Very stable with good tracking.

Unbelievable
Having not checked this thread for only two days,...... then seeing this serious piece off DIY.

Are that really 29 tube sockets I'm counting?

I did some changes to the original schemo based on my experience with the 660 type I built recently....I will post the results.

Anyway I just installed all the tubes in this baby.... instant "space heater"
but it's a beautiful thing in the dark.

What about the electric bill?
How much curent does it draw?
Is this something you'll leave on 24/7 ?

No only when needed.

Lar, the control amp is swinging up to 114V at the onset of clipping.

I like the way you have wired this particularly the buss wires across the vari mu stage. This has given me some ideas for tidying up the wiring for my 670 copy.

You can see a couple of pics here, although I have done a bit more wiring since these were taken.

The biggest problem is having to shelve it when some paying work comes in, & then spending a load of time trying to bring myself back up to speed when I start it again.

You got to finish this thing man, I like it. The transformers are beautiful too.
