I decided to make a copy of the T1454 but I have some doubts. I believe the housing of the original T1454 is from mumetal. Also, there is a brass sleeve inside which is not easy to replicate so I Decided on the housing that Carnhill has.Does anyone know if this Carnhil case is also made of mumetal or is there some kind of lining inside? I made my own bobbin that has a layered shield..would it be enough for the first outer layer to be a copper layer and then a 0.1 layer of a mumetal like foil and for the housing to be made of 1 mm carbon steel?.please look the picture.

There were some early versions in a black can that might have been a light gauge mu metal can.

I doubt that the green can halves are anything special,

The brass things are nice as you can gently clamp the high nickel lams so you do not get distortion due to magneto restriction.
