I've been procrastinating trying to pull off a few more vocal takes for my album, at the encouragement of some on a different forum. So I've been playing around with doing visual art stuff using open source software.
Some of these may be considered "not safe for work."

The following are various attempts at a cover for what was going to be my NaNoWriMo novel, but has now become a side project. They are all works in progress, as is the novel, which I'm still working on. Again, some might say "not safe for work," although I've seen worse book covers in bookstores and libraries before.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmlandrum/8218327314/in/photostream - This attempt has all sorts of things wrong with it. It doesn't get across the main themes of the book very well. I also decided I don't like the "glyph" approach to her magical abilities. The text also needs some help.

This one starts with the same line art as the first attempt, then I played around from there. Again, consider it a work in progress, or possibly permanently unfinished.
I have all sorts of other ideas, but I think that's enough playing around for one day. Now to decide if I really want to do more vocal takes or not. sigh...
