NEUMANN M149 very touchy

hi there folks. the M149 mic i have on the bench today has a weird fault. if it receives  a slight plosive or any bit of air pushed at it  ... it just gives up. the sound turns from big and fantastic...  inside out  into hushy midrange furry noise -    and back  to big and fat inside a few seconds . absolute ***** for that perfect vocal take. any ideas?

Sounds like a polluted capsule.
