;D ;D ;D did you hit the balls with your iron ??? ;D ;D ;D

Can I change my vote?

How about a graphic eq like the 8 band Aengus? I have never used/heard one nor seen one up close. Everyone who has...apparently loves them. I know Marc Alan Goodman has a pair.

Just a thought.

I remember, there was something like SPHERE graphic EQ with inductors,
please correct me if I wrong. Is this what you have in mind?

APSI made a cool graphic, one of my bosses favorite eq. Very rare.
Been trying to get hold of one for a while.

There were mentions of these eq's, Aengus and APSI over at PSW a few times. The guys there didn't seem to favour them over the API's. That's all i've ever read of them.

I have an APSI 559. It's nice but no magic bullet. Inside is a bunch of IC gyrators and a ic/transistor hybrid opamp. And of course those impossible to find switches.

I have a pair of the 559's also. They are kinda nasty in a good way. Nice for some elec guitars. Different freq. points from the 560 which is sometimes handy. Nasty but good in that UREI 530 way.

I thought the Aengus was a little bit of a different beast? Don't really know the circuit.

Maybe Marc will fill us in. I think he has both plus the Purple graphics and the 560's. I'm sure Ed knows to as he designed the inductor based graphic for Purple. Hey. Wait a minute....

A-ha...Is this like:

Yes! Now that would be a nice project! Probably better than the Aengus...as legend has it.

This is now my new vote Igor and I swear I will not change.  :D

Cool EQ. Where can we source these switches?
time machine?  ;D

my vote probably goes to the envelope shaper (TDzzz), preferably combined with a phase rotation/correction type thingo. with true bypass of each section.

PROS: relatively simple, and not too many knobs, switches or metering required!

That would work for sure.  :D  For the 51x racks?  ;D

yeah, most time machine circuits i've seen run better on +/-24v - and don't even think about a DC-DC converter...
.
.
OH! you mean go back in time and convince API to make their card edges 18pin? .... good idea  :D
