Hello diy community I would go for a Maxxelec me2a too! An Apni 560/550kind of eq I would be on my knee for a NTP 179/120 Mastering comp any schemo somewhere?

SPECTRASONICS 4 channel!

With all those 1:1 and 1:2 mic transformers lying around, I would love to have something like the spectrasonics.

Some more ideas.....
More along the modular path... these are the little circuits you always end up stripboarding or home etching (problem is with these is that the boards always end up too big)

Illiminated Pushbutton relay circuits (for 2PCO, 4PCO etc..) - linking an off board 1PST latching pushbutton to a 2PCO, 4PCO out (Calrec EQ, SSL bypass etc...)

Pot replacement boards - using off board switches and resistors (easier than soldering resistors to a switch - good for the SSL 9k amongst others)

A Input and Output section to handle Guitar Pedal DIY boards attached to Aux sends/returns (mentioned here)...

Loads of other ideas - but other lab members are pursing them at the moment

Agreed, I already have an idea for this and I'm sure Fabio and I will chat about it at some point. It will be usefull for projects that require stepped attenuation ala Lorlin, or a pot, or maybe both options, along with +48V, Phase, Pad...

I'm just the ideas guys...

A real good idea !!!

for EQ, no-one ever looked at this?

scroll to the 3rd page for details about the EQ.

A very nice sounding eq it is.
I'm fan for a Calrec too, but there's no variable Q on those...

I wouldn't mind a pcb for this thing too btw

Taking notes!

Looks like I will cook some spectrasonics micpre modular style then :)

I am still listening!!

these are great ideas really!!!!

C'mon Fabio, just build one of everything... Geez man I know you've got nothing else to do (hint of sarcasm) :green: .

But I've been thinking about designing a new PCB, so maybe I can tackle the Slow Blow. Let me think about it. The only thing is that I'm right in the middle of my thesis work, so if I design the board I might need someone to test it out for me. Any takers?

(Maybe I should start a new thread)...

Hello DIYer's what about a sontec 430 pcb? A little different than the 250.
I would love to build a Neumann 491 eq it shouldn't be so hard to find some shems.
Fabio have you test the ntp mastering compressor?
Regards,
Bruno

YEA!

Unfortunately I have. But consider this official, I am starting the SpectraSonics right now,
using that modular approach proposed by Tamas and others

I believe R47 will be next.

Nobru,
The 430 is too close to 250 to justify more effort on a new EQ like this.
I am sure you would love the 250 with some modern opamps like 992 from Forssell

cheers!

Melcor GME-20 EQ... for a quicky. With all of those 1731 PCBs floating around, it seems like it just compliments the pack.

Fabio, when you get a list of all of the ideas for boards, then you could add a poll of all of the options to see which ones are most popular.

This would let you work out which boards are most popular and therefore which ones you can sell the most of.

Cheers,

Roddy

Symetrix looks big. Good though, but that's a lot of boards. Still, if you could patch that lot together with a few well selected switches you'd have a pretty decent DIY channel strip, no question.

Patch cables on a channel strip? Why not? I'd buy a set, regardless.

That said, if you can make me give up my current micpre/eq setup with a low cost easy build SpectraSonics/553 solution, who am I to put up a fight?

He---li---os, He---li---os, He---li---os, . . . !

ps I have found all my Helios cards, including Mixamp cards, ripe for Back-Engineering and Stuff . . . .

:green: :green: :green: And ANYTHING Else You Can Come Up With!!!!

You are the best, Fabio!
