Nice little circuit I'd love to play around with but it's too complicated to put on a breadboard or vero (at least for *me*... Jurgen already made a SPL-TD on veroboard - complete with his mods!). Anything that big makes sense to design a PCB in my book, but that's just me...
Recording engineers swear up and down it's saved their bacon on lousy drums tracks in particular, but it sounds like it would do LOTS of things, especially with a little tweaking.
I also second the SPL sidechain with current state-of-the-art ICs - i.e., THAT 2181. :thumb:
Or even a whole version of the SPL compressor with room for four paralleled 2180s for the VCAs to replace the 202 modules that you can't get anymore.
I've thought about doing both layouts myself, but haven't gotten around to it.
So many projects, so little time...
