Unfortunately, the slope & response of the VTL5C1 is not really replicated by any other optocouplers, but the Xvive version is a decent replacement for the original Vactec. The datasheets list the response times as the same, but I wouldn't take that as gospel. The output resistance vs. input current plots show some differences, particularly in the low input current range, so I've used trimpots to calibrate the response in some builds.
