Opinions on value of non working 70's U87 ?

as the title says looking for opinions of value so I can make a reasonable offer on a non working 70's?  u87
no idea , new capsule ? trouble shoot electronics ?
knowing these people they'd want extra separately for the shock mount , say in fair condition
one of the ones with space for batteries I believe , tia

You need to find out what is broken
Is the PCB in good shape?  Does it look like any corrosion or bad traces?  Have the 50 ohm 200 ohm jumpers been changed if so check the soldering etc.

Check the plastic assembly that holds the switches
Check the switches

Can you take it apart to look at the parts before buying it?

Thanks for the detailed reply , should be a sticky
looks like it is unavailable now [ they can't find it ] but was looking for a fair to can't lose price range
they have a working one same vintage for 2,800 Can.  not an exciting price
