I found the CMOQ-2S to make everything thinner and brighter, with a dulling out of focus quality. The SS circuits I removed it from had far more current drive than a BA-2, and they sounded far better without it. The BA-2 will fare worse. I tend to like transformers....old ones with lots of inductance!

Bummer! Sounds so different than what others describe. It must be a sensitive unit. Since I don’t yet know enough about what attributes of a transformer cause/present difficulties on the preceding output stage, I’ll ask.. what is a good affordable line out transformer that the output stage of a BA-2 can handle?
What about this Jensen?

I’d like to order one of something I can test installed at the tail end of the passive filtering. Forget splitting, just want something that will wholesomely pass signal that I can then direct either to the mixer or to the direct out. I know I technically don’t NEED a transformer in this spot, but it’s a nicety.
