How would this work? Decreasing resistance from left to right, with zener values sorted +.1V also.

What would happen if you tied those grounds together and grounded through a lower value pot?

Certainly a control voltage could be made sufficiently non-linear through this circuit.

If you mirrored this circuit with more reversed-polarity zeners, would it make a suitable compressor?

Oh yeah... Anyone know what's in that Fairchild passive Comp?

I figured on a light bulb and a few LDRs.
