Well if this can help you janvolt, i have the same short on pin 3 and 4 of 4511D, but if you take a closer look, you'll see that it's connected to a via which goes to the C2 cap, it's not very clear on the schema, but it works for me, concerning the pin 16, i don't have no short,when you say short do you mean you add too much solder? if that's the case, then you can still suck it up with a solder bread, with the help of flux, there is a video on youtube from curious inventor wich guides you to SMD soldering, it's a good video to solder or repair when you've done mistakes, but as always, if you don't have the right tools, it can be harder, but too much solder is ok to repair, a dead component will be more of a headache, but still it's possible, with Chipquick, don't have that but that can be really a saver when you mess up, you see that on the video also.
