Pin1 to chassis via jumper or cable to star ground?

i have a question:
on a preamp, should pin1 of the XLR sockets be connected to chassis via a cable to the star ground, or a small jumper to the chassis soldering sleeve of the neutrik connector (given that it has solid contact to the chassis)?

The shortest connection is the best. So jumper direct to chassis. A long ground wire through the enclosure can contaminate the interior with RF interference.
