Hi, I have this desktop DSP synth from Use Audio that uses the technology from the Creamware synths (Minimax,Prodyssey etc).

The problem is that unless the USB cable is plugged in and connected to the PC it has this horrible ground loop hum on the outputs.

I'm wondering if it is possible to resolve this by grounding it in some way.

Also the outputs are unbalanced, do you think it's possible to convert these to balanced outputs?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

You have a "lack of ground" rather than a loop.  Fact is that the DC wallwart input does not connect the chassis to the metal chassis of your system or mother earth.  You are doing that with the USB cable, or MIDI, or TS, or a separate spade lug wire connected between the chassis and your mixer.

Don't start mucking about inside.  Connect the chassis to your system metal and then decide if you need balanced outputs.
