In Russian it is also "transformator", in Hebrew "shanai" (of course, if written with Hebrew characters, read from right to left :green: )

We're normally calling a mains transformer a "Transformator" here, while an audio transformer is a "Uebertrager".

Nevertheless, the short form for the mains transformer is "Netztrafo", while "Eingangstrafo" and "Ausgangstrafo" are also common for (audio) input and output transformers.

But then again, we're also calling electrolytic capacitors "Elkos". (;->)

They are called "lyt" (or "lytter" is there's more than one) in Denmark...
...ADM, UREI, LANGEVIN, etc, all used ouncers on high quality audio products...
Yes, my old ADM 1600series console uses O-8's as input transformers with the O-17 shields.

The signal path through the board is 1dB down at 7Hz, then very flat up to about 30kHz, hitting -3dB at about 56kHz.

Certain unpopular ouncers that spec very poorly can be used in reverse as juicy di’s. They need shielding though in that application.
