On this page http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Studio101.htm it is suggested that the drivers in the wellknown Studio 100 might be the ScanSpeak 18W/8542-00 woofer and the SEAS 27TFFC tweeter. Can anyone confirm that? I have a few pairs which need new drivers and the Proac prices are not really Rock'n'Roll friendly...

Thanx,

Michael

I've built quite a few DIY ProAc Studio 100 speakers,
for the tweeter you've got the wrong model the Studio 100 uses the SEAS 25TFFC.

As for the woofer you have 2 options, buying from a Proac dealer and you are sure you get the exact one Proac uses,  or you can buy the Scanspeak 18W/8542 and you will never now if it's the same used by Proac or not. Sure even if it's different , it would me marginal probably.

here is some info I gathered from other forums:

"ProAc slightly modified their Midwoofers and the Scanspeak 18W/8542 isn't the exact one. They are available from the ProAc rep at slightly higher price. "

"The replacement is the Scanspeak 18w/8542. The 18w/8542 00 is the one available to the public, whereas the 01 is the one available only to ProAc. There is much debate over whether the only difference is the ProAc logo on the dustcap or not!!, but I've pretty much been told from a guy at ProAc that there is no difference, and other speaker people in the know back that up."
