Hello there,

I am about to split a Studer-Mixer in two parts to have the DAW in the center.  Now the one half of the PSU happens to remain in the left section while the rest is in the right one... They didn't use external PSU - I gues due to compactness (it's a 963).
So some 26 Power-cables need to be drawn between the two sections. Does anyone have suggestions for a connector? Maybe Hirose?

Thanks

Chris

Ah o.k. thanks. Well my English is a bit untrained...

Yes I thought of Hirose since I have seen them on a lot of mixers (like my Soundcraft) but the drawback is that the cable leaves at the back wich is fine when fitted underneath the desk but since I will probably have to fit it on the back of the mixer I'd prefer a plug with the outlet on the side, like with EDACs or Siemens. I guess the cable will turn out quite heavy so I think this would be a nicer way to do, but I couldn't find the perfect solution yet.

Also I'm not sure what current the pins should be able to carry.

EDAC 516 connector.

Pins are rated at 8.5 amps.
Connectors can be polarised - they will not get mixed with audio connectors.
Male & female types for both cable-mount and chassis-mount - ensures that live voltages are on covered pins.
For a fixed installation, the Edac has a lot in its favour.

This is the key.  You'll need to know your current demand but higher rating does not do any harm

You may also consider using more than one connector to minimise the stress that the cable harness will put on the connector/panel. It can also make your life easier in terms of cable management.

Yes I thought of using more than one but then these should be different so I can't mix them up and that's the point where it starts getting strange. So I'd prefer one big plug.

And for the current - I have the diameter of the cables, so I guess the pins should be close to that. No?
