After just fitting 14 knobs of the "nut under lid" type, I'm looking for something easier...

For the small mixer (in another thread here), I used Omeg pots with 4mm D shafts. Can I get push-on knobs to fit those (that don't cost a fortune)?

Another problem is the indicators on the knobs. I thought the indicator should be on the flat side, but the two pot types I used have the flats at different angles with respect to the center position. Are knobs available with the indicators at different angles? Or can you get types with a "moveable" indicator?

I looked through the RS and Farnell catalogues and found very little for 4mm D shafts - and no types with the indicators at the right place...

sifam definately make them...
It's worth calling these chaps, I'd say...
I think some of the knobs have caps that can be orientated any way you like (no line on the actual knob!)

Cheers

Note: The orientation of the flat as illustrated is for plastic spindles only. For metal spindles, unless specified on the order, the orientation may be different on each potentiometer type.
It seems that for metal shafts omeg pots, you have to specify in your order the flat orientation...I don't know why is this as the plastic shaft flats are in the correct way (the flat matching the knob indicator).

You could use collet knobs without line indicator but with a cap which has a line indicator (like Sifam) or push-knob with the same sort of seperate cap

Yes, it looks like the "Conventional push-on knobs" will work, as they have separate caps. I guess the caps can be turned in 45° steps or similar?

Yes, I saw that. But I only ordered 15 pcs. of each type, and I don't think Omeg will make non-standard types in those quantities

But I will check with the Sifam distributor.

Thanks. But they only have knobs for 6mm D-shafts (in the Danish catalogue at least). I have 4mm D-shafts.
