They are very simple to use. I find them easier than most other mounts. The threaded bits are metal and the plastic is doomed with something to make it flexible and very strong. I have several expensive mics in these and they never fail.

The Rycote USM mounts are what Milab include with their new VIP-60 mics. They are reliable. I've not had a problem with them.
