Behringer is incredible. Every unit they make is a blatant ripoff of another company's product but for about half the price.

But I must admit that I've been considering purchasing an ADA-8000. I need to add 8 channels to my computer recording capability and I just can't afford any of the high-end convertors.

Think of this as one huge marketing operation:

- Beh markets a series of pedals that looks like Rolands.

- Roland reacts heavily, thereby indirectly admitting that these are genuine and more or less exact copies.

- Behringer changes looks to avoid loosing in court - probably they had the designs planned already - but gets to keep the reputation of being genuine and more or less exact copies - as not only admitted, but claimed by Roland.

Now the world knows that Beh are genuine copies, thoug they've "been forced" to look different. So they are in fact just an inexpensive version of a Roland stompbox. Why would you pay more just for a different look and company name?

This is pure genious marketing, IMHO...

Every time I see Hrehringer ot Hlarkin faces, I wanna take a BIG GUN.
For folks like us, sound/electronics is art; for them just source to make some $ on stupid ********(musicians). I hate this kinda of politic.

Like I said before, the Behringer guys have a very shrewd marketing man, or woman - probably a woman don't you think!!!!!!
A big German woman from the former DDR... specializing in power-massaging then, now mass-manipulation, sorry, -marketing :green:

i have to agree with Jakob, I think this was all planned out in advance. Roland fell into their little scheme.
specializing in power-massaging then, now mass-manipulation, sorry, -marketing
Now you understand exactly what its all about. That statement sums it up nicely.

Peace!

I saw the redesigned ones in Frankfurt. The cases were plastic as far as I could tell. Except the EH copies; those were metal.
