hi everyone,

i'm new here, only came across this forum a few weeks ago.
I'm doing the Royer mod on my Behringer B2. I was wondering
whether you guys had any luck getting around the connectors in the mic
as i'd love to get rid of them and have a more direct way of hooking up the capsule with the board? And Duka, did you leave the connectors in
and did you keep the switches that are already installed to use them for the omni and pad functions??

any help would be much appreciated

cheers Neal

Hi Neal
Only find standard metal 5-pole XLR and exchange 3-pole part from B2-Pro with 5-pole from XLR. I put only Omni-Cardiod switch. You must modufy all connection in small pcb wher are assembled three switches.

thanks Duka

but i don't think i was clear enough :)

the connectors i really meant, were the ones connecting the capsule
with the switches ... basically i was trying to get to the capsule
which proved difficult! and there are these metal pins that then connect
the capsule part of the mic, to the one below....i'd be much happier if i could get to the wires from the capsule!!

i don't know even this attempt doesn't seem completely clear...

hope someone knows what i mean

cheers Neal

I know what you mean here.

You are basically gonna have to pull the switch plate out of the mic, remove the little pcb, and stuff the capsule wires through the holes, if that's what your after.

I opted not to do this, and built a separate mic body.

Regards

ju

aaah....

thanks ju!!! i was trying to avoid that :) but i might leave things the way they are for now, with the new Royer style electronics and upgrade to a different mic body later on....

cheers Neal
