not sure what that added nick, but thanks for the paraphrasing.
also it would seem that audio transformers 'reflect' impedance and to paraphrase PRR, 'dont have an inherent "real impedance" of their own. the DI also has a buffer between the tx and signal in. as mentioned.
i'll consider that another vote for - try it out. which is fine, I may get the missing parts or stripboard the DI after xmas - just for fun.
unless anyone else's idle curiosity gets there first and poopoo's it for me.
maybe you or someone else who did the mod could try it with your redundant transformer queefbag.
