I built this circuit, with the m7 type capsule everything works correctly, with the k47 type capsules there is a problem (I checked several different capsules from different manufacturers).
with the k47 capsules the signal is very quiet and kind of noisy but (note - this is strange) when I connect backplate to front on PCB and front od capsule to backplate on PCB microphone works fine.
I checked the transformer, all connections, gnd.
It is strange that in the same system the m7 capsule with polarization on the backplate works correctly and the k47 capsule works correctly when the polarization is on the membrane.
does anyone have any ideas?
thank you

i love this. the flat k47 is such a weird capsule. you tested the flat k47 and the d7 in your mic and they were supercard, but the same d7 in the signal sounds was cardioid? that's an odd issue. did you ever end up trying the flat k47 in the signal sounds, just for fun?
Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't get to swap anything into the Signal Sounds. So the only combinations we tested were:

Signal Sounds + Dany D7
HA + Flat K47
HA + BN M7

The D7 tested cardioid, but both the Beesneez and the Flat K47 tested supercard. The Beesneez and the Dany D7 sounded extremely similar on my voice though.

They all sounded pretty great at the end of the day - I just ended up preferring the Beesneez M7 and Dany D7.

if both the BN and the flat k47 tested super cardioid in the same circuit doesn't that imply that there's something wrong with that specific circuit? I'm not bothered by the results so much as the lack of adequate control. It wrinkles my OCD a bit
