siemens w295 recap >> 3/4v electrolytic capacitor ?

I am attempting to recap a siemens w295 eq

I removed one electrolytic that appeared suspect + found it to be marked 250 uf , 3/4v ??

does that sound likely , 3/4v electrolytic ?

I cant find any for sale today, is there an alternative?

it is C18 on the schematic as per kubarth

3/4 makes no sense, but you can use any higher voltage cap in it's place.  6v for example.  Or to be *really* safe, use a 35v cap which is higher than the power supply voltage.

*edit*: Just looked at the W295 schematic (not W295b) and it shows 11.5v at C18, so use a 25v cap and forget about it.

so 25v or 16v also ok then I guess ?

I looked at uk stock and I cannot find anywhere selling 250 uf , 25v in Europe

only usa (high delivery charge)

would a 270uf , 16v or 25v be ok ?
( these also all seem to be radial , not axial as per 250 uf)
oddly these might be easier to fit if really tiny


I have also attached some photos so you can see the original markings and maybe make sense of them

Might be something like  3 V continuos, 4 V peak. I normally wouldn't use lower voltages than the supply voltage if the space allows to nowadays.

so you also think 25v or 35v even actually more appropriate.

tbh it is in a very tight space + smaller would be easier to fit.

maybe 10 or 16v is ok ?

my main problem now is low availability of 250 uf in Europe

270uf available but all seem to be radial which might be easier to fit.

so you think a 270uf,
16v slightly smaller than 25v
would be an ok replacement ?

Yes, higher value and higher voltage are always OK, within reason.  Old caps were often +30%/-20% rating.  A 2000uf 300v cap would obviously be too much and way too big!
